Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about our services and the adoption process.

How do I start the adoption process?

To start the adoption process, simply browse our available pets on the Pets page and click on the pet you're interested in. Then fill out our online adoption application, and one of our adoption counselors will contact you within 24-48 hours to discuss next steps.

What are the adoption fees?

Adoption fees vary depending on the type, age, and breed of the pet. For dogs, fees range from $150-$350, and for cats, fees range from $100-$200. These fees cover vaccinations, spay/neuter surgery, microchipping, and a general health check-up.

Do you offer pet training services?

Yes, we offer a variety of pet training services, including puppy and kitten training, basic obedience training, and behavior modification. Our certified trainers use positive reinforcement techniques to help your pet develop good behavior and social skills.

Can I volunteer at your center?

Absolutely! We welcome volunteers who are passionate about helping animals. Volunteers can assist with pet care, adoption events, fundraising activities, and more. To become a volunteer, please fill out our online volunteer application.

Do you offer pet insurance options?

Yes, we partner with several pet insurance providers to offer our adopters discounted rates on comprehensive pet insurance plans. We recommend getting insurance for your new pet to help cover unexpected veterinary expenses.

What happens during a home check?

A home check is a brief visit by one of our adoption counselors to ensure your home is safe and suitable for your new pet. We'll check for things like secure fencing, appropriate shelter, and a safe environment. This is also a great opportunity to ask any questions you might have about preparing your home for your new pet.

What kind of post-adoption support do you provide?

We provide ongoing support to all of our adopters. This includes access to our training resources, behavior guidance, and veterinary referrals. We also offer a post-adoption follow-up to check in on how your new pet is adjusting to their new home.

What should I bring when adopting a pet?

When adopting a pet, we recommend bringing a collar, leash, and carrier for transport. You'll also need to bring a valid ID and proof of residence. If you have other pets at home, we may ask for their veterinary records to ensure compatibility.
